A picnic lunch in the bush provides a mid-day break with sweeping views of the plains or a lakefront setting.

In the afternoon, explore the park’s beautiful lakes by boat, where you might encounter hippos, crocodiles, and countless bird species, including the rare shoebill stork. Enjoy a gourmet packed lunch along the way, or break the journey at Lake Muhazi for a relaxing lakeside stop.

After the trek, return to your lodge for a well-earned rest and lunch. You may choose to spend the afternoon with a conservationist at the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, or simply relax at your lodge, enjoying views of the forest and volcanoes.
